May 26, 2021

WASHINGTON On Tuesday, May 25th, U.S. Representative Bob Good (Va-05) visited the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Hospital to tour the facility and receive a briefing on how they are providing health care services to veterans in central and southern Virginia.

“Ensuring our veterans and their families have the care and services they deserve is effectively and morally our contractual obligation, and one of the most important roles I have as a representative of Virginia’s Fifth District,” said Congressman Bob Good.  “Today, I was grateful to have the opportunity to tour the Richmond McGuire VA Hospital and see firsthand the type of care and services that are being provided to Virginia’s veterans. I’m encouraged by the research being conducted at this facility to deliver the care our veterans deserve.”

Rep. Good discussed the VA teams’ effort to continue delivering care to our veterans over the past year by offering appointments via telehealth. Rep. Good also met with retired Marine Lance Cpl. Joshua Burch and Dr. Ashraf Gorgey, chief of spinal cord research, Central Virginia VA Health Care System. During their visit Rep. Good was briefed on how researches at Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center have launched a study to determine whether epidural stimulators can help paralyzed veterans recover motor activity.
