Rep. Good Leads Group of Republicans in Calling for Investigation into Hunter Biden for Lying on Background Check
WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Bob Good (VA-05) is leading a letter with 22 members of Congress demanding that President Biden’s nominee for Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) commit to investigating allegations that Hunter Biden falsified information during a background check in order to illegally obtain a firearm should he be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
“All Americans should be held to the same standard of the law, regardless of who their parents are. Hunter Biden’s public comments confessing to persistent illegal drug use, while owning a firearm are troubling and exposed the appalling double standard that this administration is willing to apply.
“Making a knowingly untrue statement on a background check form is a federal felony, punishable by ten years in prison. Allegations of this crime are no less serious when leveled at Hunter Biden.
“I’m calling on Presidents Biden’s Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives nominee to commit to hold all Americans to the same standard of the law and demonstrate a good faith effort to maintain the rule of law and keep all Americans safe. No one is above the law.” – Congressman Bob Good (VA-05)
“For years, Hunter Biden has exploited his father’s political power to conduct shady and unlawful business practices with very little accountability— that has the change. The recent ATF nominee promised to hold all Americans to the same standard, and I’m proud to join my colleagues in urging him to keep that promise by sending a clear message that no one is beyond reproach, even President Biden’s son.” – Congressman Barry Moore (AL-02)

- On October 23, 2018 Hallie Biden, his wife, recklessly placed the Hunter’s gun in a trashcan across the street from a high school.
- Two Secret Service agents went to StarQuest Shooters & Survival Supply seeking the Firearms Transaction Record Hunter filled out to obtain the gun.
- The store refused to turn over the records, instead handing them over to the ATF.
